Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our heirloom beans and pantry staples
Do I need to soak your heirloom beans before cooking?
While not strictly necessary for our fresh-crop beans, soaking for 4-6 hours can reduce cooking time and ensure even texture. If you are short on time, the 'quick soak' or no-soak methods also work beautifully.
How long do dried beans stay fresh?
Our beans are from recent harvests and are best consumed within 2 years. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain their flavor and texture.
Are your products non-GMO?
Yes, all Rancho Gordo beans are non-GMO. We focus on heirloom varieties that have been passed down through generations for their superior flavor and history.
Do you offer wholesale pricing for restaurants?
We do have a wholesale program for professional kitchens and specialty retailers. Please contact our wholesale department via the contact page for more information.
Are your beans gluten-free?
Naturally, beans are gluten-free. While we take great care in our processing, they are packaged in a facility that may occasionally handle other agricultural products.
Why is there a limit on certain bean varieties?
Because we work with small-scale farmers and heirloom crops, yields can be unpredictable. Limits ensure as many customers as possible can enjoy these rare varieties.
